The earthquake struck near Muang Nan in northern Thailand near the Loas border, according to the United States Geological Survey, reported WA Today.
There have been no reports of damages or casualties.
The quake struck at a depth of 92km.
People in Chaing Mai and Chiang Rai in Thailand’s north felt shaking for a long period but reported no major damage.
Bangkok locals felt mild shaking.
